We spent a week or so chilling out in Siargao, our last proper destination besides big cities and airport transit lounges on the long trip home. Siargao was everything we hoped it would be: a tropical island where the sun was shining, the water was warm and the waves were fun (for Liam – less so for me).
Siargao really is a stunning island. We spent one day driving through the centre of the island through palm tree forests and up the coast next to white sand beaches, visiting some amazing rock pools along the way. It was relatively quiet there – partly because the high season hadn’t started and partly because it’s still really undeveloped, which was a nice change from Boracay. We had a day or two of rain, but were pretty lucky with the weather and had sunshine the majority of the time we were there. We also lucked out with the place we stayed and had an awesome little bungalow with kitchen and balcony all to ourselves.
All in all, not a bad spot to spend our last week away!
